Sci-Fi Bri's Movies: "Mama" Rated R
Characters/Actors: Victoria (?), Lilly(?), Lucas/Jeffrey (Nikoloj "Game of Thrones" Coster-Waldou), Annabel (Jessica "Zero Dark 30" Chastain), etc.
From the mind of Giolermo ("Pan's Labyrinth") del Toro, following the murder of their mother by their father, two young girls are left to fend for themselves in the woods. Their only companion is an evil, vengeful, murderous ghost. Five years later, the now feral children are found and raised by their kindly uncle Luke (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his punk rocker girlfrien, Annabel. Unfortunately, not only do the children have to relearn to speak and socialize, the dangerous, evil ghost has followed them home. This was a weird movie, but it was one of the better horror movies I have seen of late.
They (whoever they are) say that if a monkey or monkeys had access to a typewriter(s) (or word processor) they would eventually produce the equivalent of the Works of Shakespeare. The following blog includes subversive and back of the envelope poetry, occasional essays, and sometimes even short fiction.

Poetry: "Shark Repel"
Poetry: "Shark Repel"
Shark repel that cause attack
Skiing with a broken back
Gunshot wound, your blood flows black
Hungry from the food you lack
For misfortune you have the knack
Your teeth are rotting, filled with plaque
You vomit when you have a snack
Your only home is just a shack
Your dirty clothes are in a sack
You just stepped on a rusty tack
And there is no doubt, your life's off-track.

Sci-Fi Bri's Movies: "Zero Dark Thirty" Rated R
Sci-Fi Bri's Movies: "Zero Dark Thirty" Rated R for Violence, Profanity, and Torture Scenes
Dir. Katherine ("The Hurt Locker") Bigelow
Actors: Maya (Jessica Chastain), James ("The Soprano's") Gandolfini , etc.
Taking place in the Middle East, "Zero Dark Thirty" is the true story of how the CIA spent a decade tracking Osama bin Laden, and how at 12:30 a.m. Pakistani time Last May("Zero Dark 30" in military parlance) a contingent of Navy Seals stormed Osama's hiding place and gave the notorious wealthy terrorist his well-deserved demise. Much of the movie takes place in CIA "black sites" where physical and psychological torture takes place on a daily basis. The torture scenes were difficult to watch, even though those who were terrrorists arguably deserved to be mistreated. Best Actress nominee Jessica Chastain was excellent even though her character condoned the secret torture going on all around her. I predict that Chastain will likely win as Best Actress.

Caught in a Lie
I thought I would Die
Her tears they will Dry
My friend he will Sigh
But no lightning bolt from the Sky.

But no lightning bolt from the Sky.

Gladiators of the Ring
For 12 rounds they do their thing
Dancing 'round with padded gloves
Knock foes out as they remain above... (tbc?)

Everyone's Expendable
So breakable and bendable
It's really not commendable
Our Fates are all so endable...
