Characters/Actors: Betty Ann Williams (Hillary "The Next Karate Kid" Swank), Ken Williams (Sam Rockwell), Juliette Lewis, Minnie Driver, Peter Galagher, etc.
In Massachusetts, the devoted sister of a man with a police record falsely accused and later convicted of first-degree murder gets her G.E.D. and then goes to law school to try to get her hapless brother out of prison. Little does she know that it will take about twenty years of her life, cost her her marriage, and once they have proof her brother is innocent they have to deal with red tape from government officials who don't want to admit they were wrong. Meanwhile, her brother is ready to give up on his freedom, and he is hardly a model prisoner. I was surprise with how much trouble Betty Ann went through to get her brother released form prison. This movie very well might win acting awards for several members of its cast. This movie was enjoyable from start to finish.
