Poetry: "I Threw an Ember" A work of fiction in verse form

I threw an ember

On that day in September

Then the building went up

And the firemen came.

So I ran far, far away

And looked at the damage the very next day

They razed the old dwelling

From smoke it was smelling

People lost their belongings

A few lost their home

But as of September 5 all there were alive

I confessed to a parson

'Bout my day of arson

He didn't tell a soul

Or I'd be paying a horrible toll

In prison or jail

And then I'd have reason to wail... (tbc?)
